A fun camp designed to keep your children active and having fun throughout the school holidays. Children are able to show off their gymnastics skills as well as learning new tricks. During the school holidays, rain or shine, The Little Gym camps combine fun, sport, creative activities and learning to keep your kids active, entertained and laughing. All while carefully developing their minds, bodies and self-confidence. Children love them! Our Gymnastics Camp is suitable for children aged 5-12 years old.

By this age, most children are moving: walking or soon to be. Whether “vertical” or “horizontal”, children now have the ability to explore their environment and, in the process, can learn to problem solve, take risks and establish a sense of independence. They are also beginning to speak, enjoy being around other children and can start following simple directions. Children in this class have attained a particular skill level, in this environment skill growth happens quickly. The approach to instruction focusses on the effort and the children are able to experience success. They are not afraid to make mistakes, which positively affects self-confidence, self-image and self-esteeem. During this class your child will focus on the following skills: Tumbling: - Backwards rolls on a flat mat - Dive cartwheels - Handstand 90 degree pirouette - Bridge kick over - Front handspring - Back handsprings with support Beam: - Squat on mount - Jump variations - Cartwheel on the low beam Bar: - Back hip circle - Front hip circle with support - High bar skills A fun intermediate class for children aged 6-12 years old. At this age, the average infant has an awareness of their environment: noises, music, people, etc. Their brain is developing at an extremely fast rate, taking in and processing massive amounts of information. Children at this age first learn how to roll from the back to tummy and begin pushing their chest from the ground (4 -6 months), try to crawl (7 -9 months), and enter the pre- walking phase (10- 12 months). Alongside these developmental milestones, infants attempt fine motor movements such as reaching and grasping for objects, waving and clapping. During this class thee children will be taking part in: - Socialisation activities teach children how to function in a group, listen and follow directions, communicate with others, share, and take turns. - Activities focused on emotional development build comfort in a group (without the parent), encourage risk taking and help children deal with success and failure. - “Circuit” format ensures continual movement and minimizes waiting. A fun class for children aged 30-36 months. Children in this age group are highly socialised and have an increasing ability to follow more complex directions. As their sense of independence and confidence soars, they are on the cusp of becoming self-sufficient with only an instructor. They are able to perform more complex locomotor skill variations, gymnastics skills and beginning sports skills as they increase their strength, speed and coordination. An energetic half day camp to keep your child active and doing something they love during the school holidays. At this age, children are ready to make a huge leap: participating in a structured class without parents. Developing a strong sense of self -confidence and eliminating the fear of failure are paramount. Having discovered the joys of independence, they’re eager to “do what the big kids do”. But they still learn best through play—“hands on” and movement activities. Students will learn to stretch and warm up safely, following on to sitting pike, sitting straddles, forward rolls. They will then progress further into handstands, Cartwheels, Bridges, Kick Overs & More. Our Acro /Gymnastics class for boys and girls is an energetic class for all abilities and this class is suitable for children aged 9-13 years old.
